Program Description
You've heard about planned giving,
and you know that it can be an important source
of gifts. Maybe you've attended some CPGR
presentations, and you've put "Start a Planned
Giving Program" into your "to do" list for
2008. But where do you start? How do you keep
it going? What's the board's role? And where
can you find the time, especially if you already
wear ten hats?
At this presentation, you will learn:
Daniel P Harris is vice president
and charitable consultant for Wells Fargo
Wealth Management Group in the Southwest United
States. He is an experienced charitable resource
who offers customized planning solutions for
nonprofit organizations and philanthropic
individuals.
Harris assists individuals and families in
planning their philanthropic objectives through
private foundations, charitable trusts, and
other planning strategies. He also assists
nonprofit organizations in developing successful
planned giving programs including gift annuity
programs. As a charitable consultant, he seeks
to educate clients about the many facets of
the charitable world.
Harris has over 17 years of experience in
the financial services industry. Prior to
joining Wells Fargo Private Client Services
in 2006, he was director of gift planning
for LMC Community Foundation in the Denver
area, a position he held for five years. Harris
has worked in the international capital markets,
including positions in the United States,
Japan, and Germany.
Harris holds a BA from McGill University
in Montreal and an MBA in finance from The
University of Texas at Austin.
Harris is involved in a number of professional
organizations including the Colorado Planned
Giving Roundtable where he has served on the
board of directors for four years, and was
President in 2007. He is also a member of
the National Committee on Planned Giving.
Harris serves on the advisory committees at
the University of Denver's Pioneer Leadership
Program and the DU Office of Internationalization's
International Graduate Leadership Program.
His many volunteer activities have included
the Ronald McDonald House in Denver, where
he served as Treasurer.
