Letter from the CPGR President

Letter from the CPGR President - Kristin Walker, CFRE

(continued from home page)

This is my fifth year on the board of CPGR, and that service as well as service on several of CPGR’s committees has afforded me the opportunity to see this organization grow and experience the successes as well as the pains of this growth. As the board also shared that experience, they decided in 2011 to seek outside assistance in formulating a strategic plan for CPGR’s future. We posted an RFP interviewed several consulting groups in our area and finally settled on Ann Goldman Consulting, Inc. Our consulting firm interviewed both CPGR members and board members, they questioned and challenged us to focus on what would be our organization’s priorities moving forward. We spent one whole day hashing out specifics and are proud to announce that we have developed a strong 3-5 year plan for our organization.

As we move forward, we will be sharing portions of the plan with you and will be seeking your input and support to move each initiative forward—so expect to hear from us. One of our first actions is to move Tina Drum, from an independent contractor to a full time employee to better assist us in achieving our goals and objectives. We are looking at all aspects of our services and carefully monitoring our parent organization Partners for Philanthropic Planning as they too move through transition.

Most importantly, the board and I are committed to offering the highest quality programs, education and support to all our members. We look forward to an outstanding year in 2012 and engaging each of you as we move forward.
