Program Description
We've been through the worst economic downturn in 75 years, not only in the U.S. but across most of the industrialized world. The international financial system came to the brink of total collapse and only massive intervention by central banks and governments around the world prevented unthinkable chaos.
Dr. Tucker Hart Adams will discuss the current economic climate - where we are, how we got here and whether the right steps have been taken to solve our financial crisis. Adams will address the implications of nationalizing huge companies and taking on massive debt, as well as how we might extricate ourselves without causing another serious recession. Dr. Adams will also answer questions regarding what the economic environment will be like for our fundraising activities over the next 18 months.

Adams has shared her forecasts with tens of thousands of people over the course of the past three decades. Although she retired from her post as the regional economist for U.S. Bank in 2008, Dr. Adams is still considered one of Colorado's most renowned economists, and has continued her work as a national speaker on the state of the economy.
Dr. Adams is a trustee of: the Tax-Free Fund of Colorado as well as the Tax Free Fund of Utah and the Tax Free Trust of Arizona; the Rocky Mountain Equity Fund; Colorado Health Facilities Authority; the University of Colorado Foundation; and the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Past community activities include service on boards and committees for The Denver Foundation, Denver Botanic Gardens, Opera Colorado, and the Fountain Valley School.
Dr. Adams holds Doctorate and Master’s Degrees in Economics from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Wellesley College. She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the University of Moscow (Russia), the University of Colorado and the University of Denver. She lives with her husband Dan in Colorado Springs.
